Safety Kayakers

IRONMAN is back in Edinburgh on Sunday 1st July 2018

IRONMAN is coming to Edinburgh for the second year in a few weeks’ time (Sun 1st July) and we’re currently recruiting the last few safety kayakers to join our water safety team for the event.

What’s required?

We’re recruiting a team of 40 safety kayakers to support the races on the morning of Sunday 1st July. The role of the safety kayaker is to supervise the participants as they complete the 1.9km open water swim at Preston Links, Cockenzie.

We do ask that kayakers are of a suitable standard to carry out the role, ideally meeting the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 16 years of age
  • Competent paddler – of at least 2 star standard
  • Able to provide your own boat & kit
  • If you hold one of the qualifications listed here it would be an advantage
