Over the 2019 Summer season we managed water safety teams across 76 events in 6 countries. But it’s not just events – we also provide water safety services for PR shoots/stunts, construction sites and on TV & film sets.
What does the role involve?
- Primarily managing water safety teams at a selection of events across our summer season
- Responsible for all pre-event planning, including creating written documentation, for the events and clients in your portfolio
- Liaising with our wider staff network, and recruiting them to form the water safety teams
- Communicating with clients and upholding Swim Safety’s professional image
- Ensuring events are delivered in line with company standards, and within budget
- Collecting and collating feedback post event to improve process and efficiency
- Working alongside the rest of the core team and providing additional support where required in the form of kit maintenance and resource allocation
What are we looking for?
- Bright and enthusiastic
- Highly motivated, organised and able to work under their own initiative
- Used to working to deadlines, and therefore have good time management
- An excellent team player – being keen to get stuck into everything is key
- Capable of leading briefings, and have previous experience with managing teams
- Good communicator – you will be in contact with our wider staff team, existing clients and dealing with new business enquiries.
- Able to work under pressure
- Happy to work most weekends over the season, alongside being happy to travel and spend some weekends away from home
- Above all – open to adventure, willing to learn and experience new things
What skills will I need?
- An Interest or experience in outdoor/water sport activities/water safety/lifeguarding
- Some level of knowledge of triathlon, open water swimming and/or obstacle racing
- A full UK driving license
Desired/other Qualifications
- BCU Lifeguards SESA Qualification (or alternative BC qualifications)
- Internationally recognised Beach or Pool Lifeguard Qualification
- RYA L2 Powerboat Certificate (or above)
- NGB Rescue Boat Driver/Crew Qualification
- PWC/RWC Qualification
- NGB Diving Qualification (Commercial or Recreational)
What are the hours and salary?
A normal week will consist of a few days based at our office in Hoddesdon, then two or three days on-site at events based across the UK.
Salary: £18,000 – £23,000 (pro-rated, depending on experience/qualifications)
