Safety Kayakers & Lifeguards: Ironman Dun LoaghaireIronman is coming back to Dublin Bay on Sunday 25th August
Ironman Dun Laoghaire is coming back to Dublin Bay in just a few weeks’ time (Sun 25th August) and we’re currently recruiting the last few safety kayakers to join our water safety team for the event.
We’re recruiting a team of safety kayakers and lifeguards to support the races on the morning of Sunday 25th August. The role of the safety kayaker is to supervise the participants as they complete the 1.9km open water swim, in Dublin Bay.
We do ask that kayakers/lifeguards are of a suitable standard to carry out the role, ideally meeting the following criteria:
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Competent paddler – of at least 2 star standard
- Able to provide your own boat & kit
- If you hold one of the qualifications listed here it would be an advantage
- Or for lifeguards hold either an: NPLQor RLSS/SLS Lifeguard ticket
Ironman Dun Laoghaire is an early start, but the nice thing about the swim is that it’s the first discipline and so it’s also finished first. Please find below some outline information about the event:
Venue: Dubin Bay, Sandycove Beach
Timings: 06:00 – 09:30
Pay: €50 per kayaker
