The World Triathlon Series is coming back to Leeds on Sat 11th & Sun 12th JuneThe World Triathlon Series is coming back to Leeds in just a few weeks’ time (Sat 11th & Sun 12th June) and we’re currently recruiting the last few safety kayakers and Lifeguards to join our water safety team for the event, in particular the Sunday morning shift (06:00 – 10:00) where 3,000 participants will be taking to the water for the first leg of their triathlon.
What’s required?
We’re recruiting a team of 30 safety kayakers & lifeguards to support the races on the morning of Sunday 12th June. The role of the safety kayaker is to supervise the participants as they complete the 1.5km open water swim at Roundhay Park, Leeds.
We do ask that kayakers are of a suitable standard to carry out the role, ideally meeting the following criteria:
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Competent paddler – of at least 2 star standard (kayakers)
- Able to provide your own boat & kit (kayakers)
- If you hold one of the qualifications listed here it would be an advantage
