Who are we?
Swim Safety is the UK’s leading event water safety management & consultancy company servicing the events industry; working across a range of mass participation & corporate sporting events. We specialise in recruiting, developing and managing local water safety teams and plans for events requiring water safety cover, offering a ‘one-stop ’water safety service for event organisers. Over the season we work with clients such as Ironman, Tough Mudder, The Olympic Games Federation and Sport Relief.
Who are we after?
We’re looking for a bright & enthusiastic individual to join our 2024 internship programme. You’ll get an insight into the workings of a niche company providing water safety management & consultancy services to a large array of clients.
An average week will consist of a combination of office-based work/practical tasks, site visits, meetings and two or three days on-site at events. Being happy to work most weekends over the season is essential.
You’ll need to be highly motivated, organised and able to work under your own initiative. Adaptability is key as you’ll be providing valuable support to our existing event managers, both administratively but also operationally on-site at events. An interest or experience in outdoor or water sport activities/lifeguarding is a distinct advantage, as is an understanding of triathlon, open water swimming and/or obstacle racing.
Interns will receive mentoring and on-the-job training working closely with all divisions within Swim Safety. They will have the opportunity to gain experience working at both corporate and mass participation sporting events, PR shoots, TV and Film sets and alongside marine engineering and construction-based jobs.
By the end of their placements each intern will have had the opportunity to gain any additional water safety or equivalent qualifications they are interested in, learn and develop key skills for working within their desired field and gain experience working across varying industries.
