Open Water Swimming and Triathlons

Every year we look after thousands of swimmers at events all around the country

Open water, whether it be a swim or triathlon, is something we’re exceptionally comfortable with. This is where we first started and certainly what still makes up a good percentage of our workload.

Throughout the Summer you’ll often find us on-site at at least one open water swim or triathlon event per weekend, if not more.

We look after many of the UK’s largest & most prestigious triathlon & open water swimming events; but that’s not all we do. We also provide water safety teams for a large number of smaller, local & club run events. Part of our philosophy is that if we take care of the water, it leaves event organisers to focus on other areas of their event. To this end, for many of the events we work at Swim Safety provides a complete water safety package whereby we fully recruit & manage the entire water safety team from start to finish.

Looking after swimmers is second nature to our team; they do it weekend in weekend out during the Summer months. Where possible we work with local team members, providing additional training and support where necessary to ensure the same exceptional level of service can be delivered anywhere in the UK.

Our water safety provision includes, as standard, production of key operational documents such as risk assessments, operating procedures and an robust emergency action plan. This is coupled with an experienced water safety manager being on-site for the duration of the event to both liaise with you as the event organiser but also manage our team throughout.

Chillswim organise open water events such as the Big Chill Swim International Winter Swimming Gala in under 5 degrees with no wetsuit, Windermere Cross Lake Swim, which involves swimming across the lake – point to point and Chillswim Coniston, with 1000 swimmers completing the full length of Coniston 5.25 miles.  All of the events are unique and logistically challenging and the water safety is paramount, therefore  we always use Swim Safety to provide full and comprehensive water safety cover.  From providing the water safety documents, recruiting safety kayakers and management of the water safety organisation on the day, I would whole heartedly recommend Swim Safety for any water based event.
